McCullough - by: plugs

McCullough-- This fly was originated by Les Johnson in 1967. It was named after fishing it for the 1st time on McCullough creek in BC and catching a 19 pound 10 ounce steelhead on it the 1st day using it. His success with this pattern was told by Pat Trotter’s article “The McCullough” published in Salmon Trout Steelheader magazine Dec.-Jan 1975. Les was from Federal Way, WA and he just passed away this last year. Les was my very 1st client when I became a licensed fishing guide on the Cowlitz River in 1972.:
